We are seeking a skilled Wirer to join our team, responsible for building and wiring both prototype and production electronic equipment. The successful candidate will work from drawings, circuit diagrams, and engineer's sketches, ensuring all tasks are completed within set deadlines while adhering to wiring best practices, quality standards, and procedures.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture wiring looms and assemble connectors.
  • Route and fit complex wiring to enclosures and other mechanical structures.
  • Solder terminations accurately.
  • Assemble equipment according to Engineering drawings.
  • Inspect own work for electrical errors, ensuring equipment is wired according to drawings, best practices, and applicable standards/procedures before passing it to the next manufacturing stage.
  • Document and communicate changes/modifications/improvements during the build process to the Engineering team via the change request or P1 wiring process.
  • Follow all procedures as specified in the Quality Manual.
  • Communicate material shortages with production control and purchasing to ensure work can be completed.
  • Maintain workplace cleanliness and organisation to agreed standards.
  • Assist with relevant tool calibration when required.


The Successful Applicant:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an electrical wiring field.
  • Experience in a startup or pilot production environment is desirable.
  • Familiarity with wiring standards required for military equipment is desirable.
  • Basic mechanical assembly skills are desirable.
  • Experience in terminating and splicing fibre optic assemblies is a benefit.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
  • Occasional travel to customer premises may be required.
  • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Highly focused with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently when required.
  • Flexible, conscientious, and diligent attitude.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and hard-working.
  • Good communication skills for liaising with design engineers to improve and correct designs.
  • Resilient and adaptable.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to build effective working relationships.
