The role:

As a Vehicle Technician Trainer, you'll step into a unique role within a team of skilled training professionals. Together, you'll be delivering technical courses to military students of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing training material, collaborating with the Media and Graphics Department when necessary to create relevant Initial Trade Training materials.
  • Maintaining a Continuous Personal Development (CPD) portfolio focused on new technologies and equipment. Ensuring that lesson plans and training sessions align with approved Learner Specifications, Course Specifications, and Course Training Plans.
  • Reviewing course material and content regularly to ensure it reflects current advancements in equipment and technology, utilising appropriate training aids.
  • Assessing trainees through various methods including creation of written examinations and progress test papers, designing practical assessment scenarios, and conducting continuous assessments.
  • Responsibilities also include marking examination papers, setting and evaluating course and homework assignments, and supervising examinations and assessments.
  • Monitoring trainee development through feedback, appraisal, disciplinary actions, and training interventions. Maintaining all supporting documentation and promptly notifying the Lead Trainer of any special trainee developmental needs or training delays.

What we need from you:

  • Vehicle Technician background
  • Strong team player - ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Organised, great time management and proactive manner
  • Strong IT literacy skills
  • Minimum City & Guilds Part 3/NVQ L3 or Apprenticeship in Engineering Maintenance (Heavy or Light automotive vehicle, plant machinery) or equivalent military qualifications, gained as Class1 REME Vehicle Mechanic or similar RN/RAF trade
