Senior Motor Control Technologist

Up to £80k

  • Bonus: Up to 27% of base salary.

About the position:

You will lead the Motor Controls team, providing technical leadership and mentoring to team members. Your responsibilities include offering support and guidance on complex issues across all projects. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future strategy for Motor Control in the design and delivery of Actuation Systems.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a Motor Controls expert who can operate at a senior level within our business, driven by a passion for delivering excellence. You should have strategic experience and excel in sharing your expertise through coaching and guidance to your team. Strong influencing and communication skills are essential, as you will engage extensively across internal and external design communities.

From a technical standpoint, we require:

  • Control Algorithm Design: Proven experience in designing and developing control algorithms for digital control systems.
  • MATLAB / Simulink Proficiency: Advanced proficiency with MATLAB / Simulink toolset and Embedded Coder for generating deployable control algorithms, ideally with direct experience in BLDC motor control.
  • System Modelling Skills: Ability to model complex electronic and mechanical systems, including feedback sensors, motors, drivetrains, and drive electronics.
  • Requirements Generation: Capability to derive subsystem or component requirements from customer requirements to support system architecture development.
