Safety & Reliability Engineer

Up to £60,000

Hertfordshire

  • Company bonus of up to £2,500 (based on company performance and may vary annually)

What we are looking for:

  • In-depth understanding and experience of integrating hazard analysis and safety evaluation processes with the system engineering process
  • Ability to deliver supporting documentation, including Safety Case Reports, Hazard Analysis, Functional Failure Analysis, FTA, FMECA, and reliability predictions
  • Comprehensive appreciation that reliability extends beyond mere numbers, with experience in reliability planning, analysis, and testing during development
  • Proven knowledge and experience in applying UK and international system engineering processes
  • Strong knowledge of complex electronic systems and their associated safety and reliability challenges
  • Demonstrated ability as an effective team member with strong interpersonal and influencing skills, capable of working within a multi-disciplinary and multi-national team
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ideally degree-qualified or possessing equivalent experience

Your Responsiblities:

  • In this role, you will balance time and cost constraints to construct a convincing safety and/or reliability case, supported by appropriate evidence, to satisfy the customer.
  • For safety, you will optimize the effort dedicated to safety assurance, balancing it against the inherently lethal attributes of complex weapon systems.
  • For reliability, you will ensure optimum effort is dedicated to progressive reliability assurance, aiming to deliver a lean yet effective reliability program.
  • You will join a team with a strong track record in safety and reliability engineering within a company that boasts an excellent safety culture. With a wide variety of project work, you will have the opportunity to work internationally and develop a deep understanding of the technologies involved
