About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join our team, working within a diverse production environment. The role involves conducting inspections on a wide range of products and components, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out mechanical and electrical inspections on aerospace components
Conducting in-process and first article inspections
Taking initiative to resolve issues in accordance with company guidelines
Investigating quality concerns and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to reach resolutions
Maintaining accurate quality records and performance metrics
Providing technical support to the production team as needed
Auditing processes and approved operators to ensure compliance
Assisting with training colleagues on relevant procedures and products
Undertaking additional tasks in line with the evolving nature of the business
Required Experience:
Proficiency in using measuring instruments
Ability to interpret engineering drawings
Previous experience in a similar role (training provided for the right candidate)
Knowledge of goods-in inspection processes (desirable)
Aerospace industry experience (advantageous)
Familiarity with AS 9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
Strong IT skills
Experience with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys and 8D methodologies
Qualifications:
City & Guilds certification or equivalent
GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and Science
Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline (preferred but not essential)
