About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join our team, working within a diverse production environment. The role involves conducting inspections on a wide range of products and components, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out mechanical and electrical inspections on aerospace components

  • Conducting in-process and first article inspections

  • Taking initiative to resolve issues in accordance with company guidelines

  • Investigating quality concerns and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to reach resolutions

  • Maintaining accurate quality records and performance metrics

  • Providing technical support to the production team as needed

  • Auditing processes and approved operators to ensure compliance

  • Assisting with training colleagues on relevant procedures and products

  • Undertaking additional tasks in line with the evolving nature of the business

Required Experience:

  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings

  • Previous experience in a similar role (training provided for the right candidate)

  • Knowledge of goods-in inspection processes (desirable)

  • Aerospace industry experience (advantageous)

  • Familiarity with AS 9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)

  • Strong IT skills

  • Experience with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys and 8D methodologies

Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds certification or equivalent

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and Science

  • Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline (preferred but not essential)
