Quality Engineer

Location: Ashchurch

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join a leading engineering and manufacturing company in Ashchurch. This is an exciting opportunity for a quality-focused professional to contribute to high-end projects in a dynamic and growing environment.

The Role

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet stringent quality standards, supporting both operations and quality departments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and managing inspection and certification control plans.
  • Supporting the Project Management team with contract reviews.
  • Leading APQP requirements, including PPAP and FAIRs.
  • Conducting in-process and final inspections of components and assemblies.
  • Providing manufacturing support to production areas on quality issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 QMS and conducting internal audits.
  • Performing product and process audits according to recognised schedules.
  • Managing non-conformance issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluating measurement systems and maintaining performance reports.

Key Requirements

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Engineer with the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience as a Quality Engineer, preferably in an electronics-based product manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Defence Standards and electronic/electrical components.
  • Experience in implementing APQP requirements to meet customer expectations.
  • Qualified and experienced auditor to ISO 9001.
  • Knowledge of lean methodologies such as 5S and Poka-Yoke.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in quality processes within the Defence industry is advantageous.
  • Previous experience or qualification to IPC-A-610 / IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards is desirable.
