Job Title: Production Assembler / Prototype Wireman
Location: Sunbury-on-Thames
Reporting To: Team Leader / Cell Leader



About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Production Assembler / Prototype Wireman to join our dynamic Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on the assembly, repair, and testing of mechanical and electrical products for a leading manufacturer. If you have hands-on experience in prototype wiring, assembly, and testing, along with a passion for precision, we'd love to hear from you.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly & Wiring: Build and upgrade mechanical/electrical assemblies from technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs.
  • Component Handling: Proficient in soldering, crimping, cabling, sleeving, and harnessing, including working with mm wire and AWG.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Fit and wire components following electrical schematic circuit diagrams and blueprints.
  • Testing: Conduct mechanical and electrical tests, such as flash, resistance, and inductance tests.
  • Documentation & Communication: Complete relevant documentation and effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and colleagues at all levels.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to 5S and other Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Ad-hoc Duties: Train colleagues, support other departments, and perform tasks as assigned by management.


Skills & Experience Required

  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, SOPs, and CMMs.
    • Experience with prototype wiring and mechanical assembly.
    • Skilled in soldering and assembling small components.
  • Professional Attributes:
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Team player with excellent communication abilities.
    • Methodical, self-motivated, and able to handle pressure well.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Previous experience in a production environment.
    • Knowledge of tools and techniques for mechanical/electrical assembly.
    • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
