What to Expect
This role is integrated within the Prototype Engineering and Supply Chain Team, essential to the seamless delivery of our early-phase prototype builds. Reporting to the Prototype Engineering Manager, the Stock Controller is responsible for processing parts into the build hall.
As a core member of the supply chain, you'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet part demand and ensure timely delivery of all received goods. This role goes beyond a typical warehouse operative position, as it involves bringing innovative ideas to warehousing and taking on material controller responsibilities for sourcing carry-over parts.
What You'll Do
- Manage the stock control process of part delivery to vehicle builds.
- Ensure robust and accurate inventory management of all prototype vehicle parts.
- Create and pick vehicle kits in alignment with Build Engineering to meet daily build requirements.
- Work closely with the broader logistics organisation, promoting collaboration and supporting team objectives.
- Coordinate all carry-over stock demands from initial request to lineside delivery.
- Track and follow up on active internal requisitions to ensure timely budget approval and part delivery.
- Keep all relevant tracking documentation up to date.
- Ensure goods are accurately received and documented, supporting the Senior Technical Buyer with effective communication and delivery updates.
- Maintain and uphold organisational values, including housekeeping, appearance, and professional behaviour.
- Contribute actively to a safe working environment, engaging with SSoW and H&S policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support engineering and supply chain goals.
- Apply 5S methodology, ensuring storage spaces remain organised and meet professional standards.
What You'll Bring
Skills and Experience:
- Training in 5S methodology.
- Strong understanding of a manufacturing and warehousing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet specific deadlines.
- Material planning and control experience preferred.
- Experience with SAP products preferred.
- Previous experience within the automotive industry preferred.
