Prototype Build Engineer

What You'll Do

• Oversee builds in alignment with the established high-level plan.
• Deliver specified vehicle requirements to support necessary DVP activities.
• Track, monitor, and report spending throughout the build process.
• Provide progress and status updates to the Principal/Senior Build Engineer.
• Work within business processes and address engineering issues as they arise, promoting continuous improvement.
• Manage engineering change control, ensuring any deviations from functional requirements are documented and approved.
• Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely parts delivery.
• Report build issues and drive their resolution efficiently.
• Oversee build documentation for customer handover, including vehicle data uploads to the online system.
• Lead commissioning, dynamic sign-off, and handover of assigned builds in accordance with the Build Process.

What You'll Bring

• A degree (2:1 or above) in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, or Automotive Engineering, with a strong understanding of engineering principles.
• Ideally, some experience in development programme delivery, particularly in low-volume, high-performance vehicle projects.
• Proficiency in CAD-based systems for virtual build analysis, preferably CATIA.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with vehicle and rig data acquisition, testing, and analysis techniques.
• A solid understanding of vehicle fundamentals.
• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Practical experience within the automotive industry is preferred.
• Experience in an automotive test and development environment is advantageous.
• Exposure to low-volume, high-performance vehicle programmes.
• Knowledge of Hybrid/Electric Drive engineering.
