Project Engineer - Electrical (Offshore)

Mission Description:

Are you eager to work on a project for a major player in the Belgian energy landscape?

The Belgian and European energy sectors are evolving rapidly. As part of this transformation, our client plays a pivotal role in ensuring a reliable and sustainable electricity supply in the region. As a key participant in this mission, you will work alongside other Contingent Workers and in-house staff to help build a green, resilient energy infrastructure that supports economic growth while reducing environmental impact.

We believe in the strength of diversity: an inclusive work environment fosters more innovation, creativity, and better results. Only together can we achieve the most significant impact.

To meet Belgium and Europe's energy transition goals, our client is planning to expand its offshore high-voltage grid by constructing the Modular Offshore Grid 2 (MOG 2). This grid will connect the new Belgian wind farms located in the "Princess Elisabeth Windfarm Zone."

The current concept involves:

  • Building an artificial energy island with offshore transmission infrastructure
  • Developing multiple AC substations at 66kV & 220kV (wind farms will connect at the 66kV level)
  • Installing six 220kV AC export cable systems of approximately 50 km each
  • Establishing an HVDC connection (one offshore converter, one onshore converter, and an HVDC cable system) between the artificial island and the new substation to be determined under the Ventilus project
  • Providing options for future HVDC interconnectors
