Mane are looking for an experienced Project Director with a strong Mechanical background to join them on an exciting Pharmaceutical project.
We are looking for a proactive, well-organized Project Director with strong leadership skills to manage multiple projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen ability to anticipate challenges and implement effective contingency plans.
- Oversee multiple mechanical contracts from inception to completion, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure projects meet client specifications, deadlines, and budget.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, and negotiate contracts and agreements as required.
- Manage project finances, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure all work adheres to relevant legislation, codes, and standards, including health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
- Assist in preparing proposals and bids for new projects.
- Implement and maintain structures to monitor and control project expenditures against budgets.
- Ensure accurate and timely commercial reports are produced for Senior Management.
- Work closely with Directors and Site Managers to identify potential risks or issues and recommend solutions.
- Provide monthly progress reports to Senior Management/Directors.
- Collaborate with Senior Management/Directors to align with business goals.
- Foster productive, collaborative relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
Candidate Requirements:
- A mechanical background with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience as a Project Director/Contracts Manager in the Mechanical HVAC industry.
- Experience managing mechanical packages on Life Science or large-scale semiconductor/Data Centre projects for an M&E contractor is essential.
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical, HVAC, and Process systems, including design, installation, and operation.
- Exceptional project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform well under pressure.
- Willingness to travel within Europe.
- A valid full driving license.
