Principal Hardware Design Engineer
Location: Stevenage, Bristol, or Bolton (Relocation Package available)
Work Arrangement: Flexible remote working available
Salary: Up to £55,000 depending on experience

The Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Principal Hardware Design Engineer to join our Test Equipment Design Team to support the design, integration, and validation of test system hardware.
Your role will involve defining and specifying test approaches, identifying potential improvements to test/diagnostic processes, and participating in all stages of the design process, including bid preparation. You will have the opportunity to lead work packages, manage assigned budgets, and lead your own team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and specify test approaches for hardware design.
  • Identify and implement improvements to test and diagnostic processes.
  • Participate in the design process at all stages, including bid preparation.
  • Lead work packages and manage assigned budgets.
  • Manage and mentor a small team.

What We're Looking for From You:

  • Knowledge of test needs and techniques in support of product lifecycle development.
  • Experience in design proving and performance testing during development.
  • Experience with environmental and EMC testing during qualification.
  • Strong document writing skills related to test equipment hardware design.
  • Experience managing a small team and/or packages of work is highly desirable.

Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to gain UK government security clearance. To achieve this, you must hold British or dual nationality.
