People Manager, Engineering Project Management Group
Location: Stevenage (Relocation Package Available)
Work Arrangement: Flexible, typically 3 days a week onsite
Salary: Up to £60,000, depending on experience

The Role:

We're looking for a visionary leader to guide our Engineering Project Management Group on a 12-month fixed-term contract. In this role, you'll be integral to shaping the future of our Electronics Engineering organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management: Provide strategic oversight and functional line management for the Engineering Project Manager (EPM) team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the critical mission of delivering defense equipment.
- Project Delivery Oversight: Support and guide EPMs in the successful execution of complex engineering projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
- Team Development: Enhance the team's capabilities through effective training programs, mentorship, and development plans to address current and future business needs.
- Performance Management: Conduct thorough development and performance evaluations to maximize team potential and address areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Initiate and manage development and improvement initiatives within the EPM group to boost efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
- Motivation and Retention: Develop strategies to motivate, retain, and grow the team, ensuring high levels of engagement and commitment to organizational objectives.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in providing leadership and functional line management within a dynamic environment, particularly in defense equipment delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to lead EPMs in delivering complex engineering solutions on time, within budget, and to high quality.
- Strong capability in team development, including motivating, retaining, and growing team members to meet workload forecasts and business needs.
- Experience in delivering high-quality development and performance evaluations to maximize team potential.
- Initiative and experience in managing EPM development and improvement initiatives.
