Job Description: Network Engineer

Role Overview:

As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the network infrastructure to ensure secure, cost-effective, and continuous data availability through our data centers across wind farm projects. Your focus will span the operation and support of both onshore and offshore wind portfolios, working closely with colleagues on project design, delivery, and day-to-day network operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the operation of wind farms by managing technical network communication tasks.
  • Lead and oversee subcontractors on network equipment assignments related to Operations and Maintenance (O&M).
  • Ensure that network configurations are current and that data integration to centralized data centers is seamless and functional.
  • Enhance cybersecurity measures to ensure compliance with Vattenfall and other regulatory standards, keeping the wind farms safe.
  • Perform daily operational tasks, including network monitoring and optimization.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network systems and configurations.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call duty roster as part of the team.
  • Travel within Northern Europe is required, and the ability to work offshore or in remote facilities via boat or helicopter is preferred.

Your Profile:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 3 years of network engineering experience, ideally in the energy sector.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with Cisco-based security network solutions.
  • Certification in CCNP Routing and Switching (or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with supporting highly-available networks and expertise in routing and switching protocols.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
