Model Maker - Wind Tunnel Development

Are you passionate about precision engineering and aerodynamic development? We are looking for a skilled Model Maker to join our dynamic team and contribute to the evolution of high-performance motorsport technology. Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend wind tunnel tests and implement model modifications under the guidance of the aerodynamic team.

  • Work closely with designers, engineers, and aerodynamicists to develop scale models and enhance working practices.

  • Ensure all tasks meet the highest standards of quality and are completed within tight deadlines.

  • Maintain excellent communication across departments to drive continuous improvement.

  • Suggest and implement innovative solutions to optimise model construction and development processes.

  • Uphold the highest standards of workmanship across all components and projects.

  • Adapt to a dynamic environment, balancing flexibility and efficiency to support ongoing advancements.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience within high-performance motorsport.

  • Expertise in model making, mechanical assemblies, and fine-tolerance engineering.

  • Proficiency in using digital measurement and scanning systems such as Leica or Creaform, including associated software.

  • Strong understanding of pressure tap checking and management.

  • Ability to interpret and manipulate CAD assemblies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to process and model improvements.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, meeting strict deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional approach to teamwork.

  • Sound knowledge of health and safety practices in an engineering environment.

  • Flexibility to work on weekends.
