About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Assembler to join our clients manufacturing team in Sunbury-on-Thames. This role is ideally suited to someone with a background in mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly, particularly in the aerospace, defence or high-precision engineering sectors.
You will be responsible for the assembly and integration of fans, motors and heaters into complex systems. This includes mechanical fitting, PCB soldering, crimping, and performing quality checks - all in a highly regulated, batch-controlled environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone with experience as an aircraft fitter, mechanical assembler, or electro-mechanical technician, especially if you have worked on systems involving airflow, heating or rotating machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and fit fans, motors, and heaters according to engineering drawings and SOPs.
- Perform PCB soldering, crimping and other wiring tasks.
- Use hand tools and measuring equipment for both small and large component assembly.
- Work in a batch-controlled environment, following strict traceability and quality standards.
- Conduct in-process inspections and final quality checks to ensure product conformance.
- Follow company procedures and participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including FOD and PUWER requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience in assembling fans, motors, heaters or similar electro-mechanical products.
- Background in mechanical fitting or assembly within aerospace, military or high-precision manufacturing.
- Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings and SOPs.
- Skilled in PCB soldering, wire crimping, and cable management.
- Comfortable working with hand tools and maintaining high standards of accuracy and detail.
- Knowledge of batch control, traceability and operating in a quality-regulated environment.
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with FOD, PUWER, and 6S workplace principles.
- Good communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Eligibility Requirement:
- Candidates must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 years.
- Must have the right to work in the UK - please note we are unable to accept spousal visas.
