Job Title: Manufacturing Test Manager
Location: Sunbury-on-Thames
Salary: Dependent on Experience

Are you an experienced leader with a strong background in electro-mechanical testing and test house operations? We're seeking a Manufacturing Test Manager to oversee our testing and production processes in Sunbury-on-Thames. This role is integral to ensuring production and testing targets are met while maintaining exceptional quality and safety standards.

About You:

  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Test Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Strong background in managing a test house or electro-mechanical testing facility.
  • Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing and a solid understanding of aerospace standards.
  • Hands-on expertise in testing processes, including calibration of equipment and test rigs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and schedule workloads across shared service cells to meet operational plans and production deadlines.
  • Oversee and lead the testing of electro-mechanical products, including calibration of chambers, test rigs, and associated equipment.
  • Take full ownership of the ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) database and ensure comprehensive reporting for all test programs.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, such as 5S implementation and structured problem-solving exercises.
  • Supervise and train team members, fostering skill development and providing ongoing performance feedback.
  • Analyse test and production data to identify root causes of issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, conducting regular personnel and operational reviews.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve testing processes and efficiency within the test house.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience managing a test house or similar testing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, manage, and develop teams.
  • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 6S and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven expertise in testing electro-mechanical products and calibration processes.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate test data and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and motivate teams.
  • Proactive and adaptable, capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
