Service Description:
We are seeking a High Voltage Power Transformer Inspection and Test Expert to join a leading engineering team. In this role, you will develop expertise, perform, and coordinate Production and Active Part Inspections (APIs), Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) of new Power Transformers (PTFOs), Shunt Reactors (SHRs), and Phase Shifting Transformers (PSTs). These units are manufactured and tested globally, predominantly in European factories, and are deployed in high-voltage electricity grid projects.

Main Responsibilities:

🔹 Knowledge Development & Testing Standards

  • Stay up to date with relevant test methods, dielectric, thermal, function tests, noise measurements, etc.
  • Understand international test standards (IEC), recommendations (Cigré), and test equipment for transformers and components (bushings, tap changers, etc.).

🔹 Performing Inspections & Tests

  • Conduct inspections and tests at various stages:
    • In factories: Production and active part inspections.
    • In test labs: FATs or other relevant tests.
    • On-site: SATs.

🔹 Coordination of Inspections & Tests

  • Plan and coordinate between different inspectors, inspection companies, and factories.
  • Ensure all specifications and instructions are available to relevant teams.
  • Align, onboard, and evaluate inspectors and inspection companies.

🔹 Technical Documentation & Reporting

  • Write mission descriptions and instructions for inspectors and inspection companies.
  • Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and Quality Control Plans (QCPs) to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Provide input for technical specifications for transformers and related equipment.
  • Centralize feedback, evaluate, and report on inspection and test results.
  • Support investigations in case of major equipment-related quality issues and assist in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Upload and manage final FAT results in the database.

🔹 Training & Knowledge Sharing

  • Prepare and conduct training sessions for different audiences to share expertise.

Requirements:

✅ Education: Bachelor's degree in electricity or equivalent through experience.
✅ Experience: Preferred background in high-voltage testing and industrial inspections.
✅ Knowledge: Understanding of power transformers is a plus.
✅ Travel: Willing to travel for short missions (generally less than a week).
✅ Mindset: Strong inspector mentality-frank, detail-oriented, and administratively diligent.
✅ Soft Skills: Communicative, persuasive, and a team player.
✅ Languages: Fluent in English; knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a plus.
✅ Technical Skills: Good knowledge of MS Office is beneficial.
