Mane are looking for a HV Engineer to be responsible for the design, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of high-voltage (HV) equipment for energy projects. This role ensures the reliability, safety, and optimal performance of HV systems across various power generation assets.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
- Develop and design HV electrical systems for power generation projects.
- Prepare technical specifications, single line diagrams (SLDs), and infrastructure layouts.
- Oversee HV system integration with low voltage and auxiliary systems.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, grid codes, and safety protocols.
Project Management
- Lead HV projects from planning through completion, overseeing installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Collaborate with design engineers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure timely project delivery.
- Provide technical support during construction and installation, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.
Compliance & Safety
- Verify HV systems meet national and international safety and electrical standards.
- Perform risk assessments and implement safety protocols for HV systems.
- Maintain documentation for HV installations, modifications, and maintenance.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on new technologies and best practices in HV engineering and energy systems.
- Identify and implement improvements to increase the efficiency, safety, and reliability of HV systems.
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Chartered Electrical Engineer status.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in HV engineering, ideally in energy and power generation with a NERS-accredited organization.
- Strong knowledge of HV systems, including transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and cabling.
- Experience in designing, installing, and commissioning HV infrastructure.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, and grid compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience in fault-finding, testing, and maintenance of HV equipment.
- Proficiency in Power System studies and report generation.
- Skilled in AutoCAD, electrical design software, and other engineering tools.
- Strong problem-solving abilities; effective in fast-paced environments.
Desirable
- Experience with power generation/CHP/BESS/Hydrogen technologies.
