Mane are seeking an experienced Estimating Manager to lead and develop our clients estimating team in Ireland. This is a pivotal role for a highly motivated individual who can build and manage a successful team of estimators while driving long-term strategic growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background, be strong on people management and a proven track record in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, data center, or heavy industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of estimators, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Estimating & Tendering: Oversee the preparation of accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical engineering projects.
  • Strategic Growth: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and success of the estimating function.
  • Process Improvement: Establish best practices for estimating procedures, cost tracking, and project bid analysis.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and well-structured bids.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess risks within tenders and provide mitigation strategies.
  • Market Analysis: Stay up to date with industry trends, material costs, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading and managing an estimating team within the mechanical sector.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team.
  • Background in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, data centers, or heavy industrial projects.
  • Mechanical bias with a strong understanding of piping, HVAC, process systems, and other mechanical disciplines.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and the ability to develop competitive and accurate cost models.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to interact with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
