Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (07:15 to 15:45), Friday (07:15 to 12:15)
We are recruiting an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of Electrical Installation and Test Engineers within a leading engineering organization. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring compliance and operational efficiency in manufacturing and assembling specialist projects, working with both electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.
Candidates must provide 3 years' worth of employment references and be eligible to obtain basic security clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Electrical Installation and Test Engineers, ensuring high-quality standards and safe working practices.
- Support supervisors in coordinating workloads and addressing performance issues.
- Oversee production to ensure on-time delivery in line with the master plan.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety management systems and promote a positive safety culture.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in line with lean manufacturing and 5S processes.
- Manage local policies and procedures and foster a collaborative team environment.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in managing manufacturing, installation, and assembly processes
- Proven track record in managing a team, particularly during periods of strategic change.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation, inspection, and testing processes.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques and health & safety standards in a workshop environment.
- City & Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
- City & Guilds certification in Electrical Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and Electrical Installation Inspection & Testing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and MRP systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
