Contract: 12 months (potential for extension)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (07:15 to 15:45), Friday (07:15 to 12:15)

We are recruiting an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of Electrical Installation and Test Engineers within a leading engineering organization. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring compliance and operational efficiency in manufacturing and assembling specialist projects, working with both electrical and mechanical engineering drawings.


Candidates must provide 3 years' worth of employment references and be eligible to obtain basic security clearance.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Electrical Installation and Test Engineers, ensuring high-quality standards and safe working practices.
  • Support supervisors in coordinating workloads and addressing performance issues.
  • Oversee production to ensure on-time delivery in line with the master plan.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety management systems and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in line with lean manufacturing and 5S processes.
  • Manage local policies and procedures and foster a collaborative team environment.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in managing manufacturing, installation, and assembly processes
  • Proven track record in managing a team, particularly during periods of strategic change.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical installation, inspection, and testing processes.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques and health & safety standards in a workshop environment.
  • City & Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
  • City & Guilds certification in Electrical Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and Electrical Installation Inspection & Testing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and MRP systems.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
