Embedded Electronics Developer for Formula 1

Job Purpose/Role:

  • Develop embedded electronics systems for Arm Cortex MCUs/MPUs, focusing on circuit design and layout.
  • Design analog and digital sensor interfaces.
  • Create and manage distributed systems/architectures.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to specify and commission MPU/MCU systems.
  • Develop software/drivers (bare metal/RTOS) for MCU systems.
  • Commission and troubleshoot in-house and external hardware components.
  • Set up prototypes in our hardware laboratory.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and manufacturing documents.

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with ECAD software, particularly Altium® Designer.
  • Strong programming skills in C for microcontrollers, and experience with embedded real-time operating systems like FreeRTOS® or embOS®.
  • Confident use of measuring technology in the embedded environment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol decoders.
  • Practical knowledge of electronics manufacturing, including soldering and rework.
  • Experience with model-based development using MATLAB®/Simulink® is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, systematic, and independent working style, along with strong team collaboration skills.
