Embedded Design Team Lead - Electronic Engineering
Location: Stevenage (Relocation Package available)
Work Arrangement: Flexible approach to onsite and remote working, typically 3-4 days a week on site
Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on experience

The Role:

Are you a passionate and skilled Embedded Design Team Lead with leadership experience? If so, we want to hear from you!
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop a team by driving opportunities and process improvements while promoting a delivery-focused culture on some of the most exciting and challenging products and technology in defence.
As an Embedded Design Team Lead, you will work on portfolios that range from advanced DSP systems (e.g., Image Processing, Software Defined Radios) and complex SoC systems to safety and security-critical systems, using the latest embedded devices from all major vendors (e.g., Xilinx, Intel, Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, etc.). This role will allow you to develop both your core technical and leadership skills while gaining broader experience with complex systems. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team and be a key part of a supportive and growing team as your career expands with us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop an embedded design team.
  • Drive opportunities and process improvements.

  • Work on advanced DSP systems, complex SoC systems, and safety/security-critical systems.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team.


What We're Looking for From You:

  • Demonstrable team leadership experience.
  • Background in either Digital Hardware Design, FPGA Design (firmware), or Embedded Software Design.
  • Embedded digital design and modelling skills (e.g., partitioning of functional elements between software and FPGA, and modelling/analyzing key performance aspects of the resulting design).
  • Experience in integration and testing of embedded systems onto hardware platforms.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and drive teams to succeed.
  • Project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and delivery mindset.
  • Ability to foster a culture of innovation and improvement, challenging the norm.

Security Clearance: Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to gain UK government security clearance. To achieve this, you must hold British or dual nationality.
