Key Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to the project and company Safety Management System.
- Comply with relevant Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) statutory provisions and legislation.
- Follow and enforce project and PSCS Environmental, Health & Safety Plans.
- Coordinate the development of task-specific method statements, risk assessments, safe plans of action, and permit-to-work procedures.
- Ensure compliance with the project execution plan.
- Track and report project safety indicators.
- Promote and maintain good safety practices on-site.
- Conduct ongoing Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (C.O.S.H.H) assessments and manage hazardous substance controls.
- Ensure safety interventions are completed and properly documented.
- Conduct regular site audits and inspections, document findings, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain records of statutory inspections for project activities, tools, and equipment.
- Take a proactive approach to project EHS requirements.
- Work independently or as part of a team to support EHS initiatives.
- Provide safety input to site management and participate in EHS forums.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with project and company EHS policies and procedures.
- Oversee and manage the coordination of site inductions and training.
- Ensure project PPE is adequately resourced and available.
- Prepare and deliver toolbox talks as necessary.
- Assist with or conduct accident investigations, ensuring timely reporting to project management.
- Oversee and maintain site welfare and hygiene facilities.
- Liaise with project management on all environmental, health, and safety matters.
- Ensure up-to-date documentation is included in the Safety File.
- Maintain waste reduction and recycling programmes in line with project policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties associated with this role.
Qualification
- Relevant qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety
- 5+ years' experience of managing environmental, health and safety on large construction sites.
- Experience working on Data Centres
- 5+ years managing a team of EHS advisors.
