Project Location: Helsinki, Finland

Experience in Data Centre, Pharmaceutical or Semi-Conductor is advantageous

Must hold either a EU passport

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain EHS management systems across all project sites.
  • Ensure compliance with the project-specific Safety Management System.
  • Adhere to all relevant Environmental, Health & Safety legislation and statutory provisions.
  • Develop and enforce Environmental, Health & Safety plans in line with project requirements.
  • Coordinate the creation of task-specific method statements, risk assessments, safe work plans, and permit-to-work procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with the project safety statement.
  • Monitor and report project safety indicators.
  • Maintain high standards of safety practices on-site.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of hazardous substances (C.O.S.H.H.) and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  • Complete and document safety interventions as required.
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections, providing reports and recommending corrective and preventive actions for continuous improvement.
  • Attend site meetings, report on EHS risks and trends, and propose actions to enhance safety performance.
  • Offer expert guidance on EHS matters to management, safety representatives, and employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of statutory inspections for project activities, tools, and equipment.
  • Take a proactive approach to project EHS requirements.
  • Provide safety input to site management and EHS forums.
  • Ensure all subcontractors comply with project EHS policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage site inductions and safety training sessions.
  • Ensure availability of appropriate project PPE.
  • Prepare and deliver toolbox talks as required.
  • Assist in or conduct accident investigations, ensuring timely reporting and communication with project management.
  • Ensure proper management and maintenance of welfare and hygiene facilities.
  • Work closely with project management to address EHS concerns on-site.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for inclusion in the Safety File.
  • Support waste reduction and recycling initiatives in line with project policies and procedures

Qualification

  • Relevant third level Certificate qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety
  • 3 years minimum site experience
  • Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation
