DEvOps/ Platform Engineer

Up to £80,000 + Package

1/2 days on site per week

Are you passionate about containerised solutions and eager to make an impact? We're on the lookout for a Kubernetes specialist to help us deploy, secure, support, and enhance our containerised environments. In this dynamic role, you'll guide our internal teams on the effective use of Docker and Kubernetes, creating reusable containerised solutions that drive innovation across the organisation.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage and optimise our Kubernetes environment, ensuring its health and performance while planning for future capacity needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and IT functions to support rapid application development and testing using containers.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives that enhance our IT services.
  • Lead workshops to educate colleagues on utilising Kubernetes and container creation, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Harbour, Helm, Nexus, Artifactory, Python, GitLab, and Ansible.
  • Proficiency in Linux OS and experience with command line tools and scripting (Bash, Python) for automation, especially with RHEL.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible to streamline deployment and configuration.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools to ensure service continuity and security best practices for Kubernetes and container management.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills to tackle complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong customer service, teamwork, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience with OpenShift and CI/CD practices is a plus.
