Design Manager

Project Location: Dublin, Ireland

Experience in Data Centre, Pharmaceutical or Semi-Conductor

Must hold either a EU Passport or Residency in Switzerland
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee design, surveying, and BIM modelling teams, ensuring coordination and quality.
• Manage off-site pre-manufacturing design and client/contractor-procured equipment.
• Identify value engineering opportunities and collaborate on design changes.
• Define construction methodology, installation sequences, and approve technical submittals and shop drawings.
• Coordinate contractor's design works (CDP) and support cost assessments for design changes.
• Develop and manage the Design Delivery Schedule with the client, Project Manager, and design team.
• Negotiate scope, deliverables, and fees with consultants and manage procurement for design services.
• Allocate workloads, track design and cost issues, and mitigate risks.
• Ensure designs meet project requirements and oversee document control for prioritising tasks.
• Lead and supervise the design team to ensure timely delivery and implement recovery strategies if needed.
• Provide technical assistance and attend design meetings to optimise designs and reduce inefficiencies.

Qualification

• Qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 8-10 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Solid experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Project management expertise across all design phases, including time and cost management of design fees.
• Proven ability to manage large teams effectively.
• Experience working in a BIM environment
