Job Title: Experienced Composite Trimmers / Fitters

Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire

We are currently seeking experienced composite trimmers/fitters to join the main Trim Shop of one of our clients, a leading manufacturer of composite components for various Formula One teams, high-end automotive designers, and innovative industry disruptors. With ISO 9001:2015 accreditation, they consistently exceed the highest industry standards to support and deliver for their clients.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Demonstrate considerable previous experience of trimming/fitting a broad range of composite materials in the high-end motorsport/Formula 1 industries.
  • Be able to read and understand detailed technical drawings.
  • Have significant experience using air tools, hand tools, and adhesives.
  • Be methodical and thorough in their approach, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Be self-motivated and possess a 'can-do' attitude.
  • Possess excellent communication skills.
  • Work well under pressure to meet critical deadlines.
  • Be able to work independently with little to no supervision.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Trim, bond, and assemble carbon fibre components utilising engineering drawings and technical manuals.
  • Assemble complex components using fixtures and jigs.
  • Solve technical challenges as they arise.
  • Proactively contribute to developing processes designed to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Be Health and Safety self-aware and promote best practices among colleagues.
  • Support the trainee department as required by imparting your knowledge and experience to the next generation.
  • Maintain the highest standards as laid out in the trimming policies and procedures, and aid in the company's maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 accreditation. To this end, you will utilise production management software to job-on and job-off your work, as well as maintain any records required by our customers.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested by your immediate supervisor.

This role will require flexibility in your working hours, especially during peak build seasons. Overtime is paid at 1.5x your hourly pay, with 2x on applicable Sundays and Public Holidays.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the use of air tools and hand tools (essential)
  • Prior experience in a motorsport or automotive environment (essential)
  • Experience in quality assurance and development (desirable)

Pay:

The salary for this position will depend on the candidate's experience and professional/technical qualifications. The range shown is indicative of base pay before overtime.
