  • Mon-Thurs: 15:00-00:00

  • Fri: 12:00-17:00

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our high-tech machine shop. You will be responsible for setting up, proving out, and operating Fanuc-controlled CNC milling machinery (Mazak), producing parts for the aircraft interiors industry. This is a key role in ensuring smooth production runs and maintaining high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up a range of Fanuc-controlled CNC milling machines to produce both simple and complex parts for low-batch, high-mix production.

  • Edit and create basic CNC programs using G&M code.

  • Operate machinery to meet production targets and quality standards.

  • Conduct self-inspections of repeat work using the appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Perform regular Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) on the equipment.

  • Report any production issues or defects to the Team Lead and engineering team.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.

  • Track operational performance and provide feedback.

  • Collaborate effectively with peers and support teams.

  • Adhere to company quality management standards.

  • Follow EH&S guidelines and ensure compliance.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following housekeeping and FOD rules.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • City and Guilds CNC/NC qualifications or at least 5 years of relevant CNC machining experience in a precision engineering environment.

  • Extensive experience with CNC milling machinery.

  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc control systems.

  • Proficient with machine tooling and inspection equipment.

  • Attention to detail with the ability to produce components to a high standard.

  • Strong understanding of complex engineering drawings and data.

  • Good awareness of EH&S practices in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of metallurgy.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.

  • Experience with lean manufacturing techniques and process improvement projects.
