Key Responsibilities
Policies, Procedures, and Compliance
- Ensure Group Commissioning policies and procedures are understood, communicated, and implemented at the site level.
- Conduct and audit monthly Commissioning KPI reports, address non-compliance issues promptly.
- Adhere to safety policies, particularly regarding the Control of Hazardous Energies.
Project and Performance Management
- Support estimation processes with Commissioning (Cx) strategies, resource plans, and pricing.
- Report monthly on Business Unit Commissioning (Cx) performance.
- Attend projects in a set rotation, providing support and feedback as needed.
Resource and Talent Management
- Assist in recruitment, defining roles and responsibilities, and selecting candidates with HR.
- Act as the line manager for Commissioning Project Managers (Cx PMs).
- Decide resource strategies (in-house vs. outsourced) and develop scopes of work when outsourcing is required.
Onboarding and Training
- Create onboarding packs to standardise new personnel training and integration.
- Oversee the onboarding of projects to the Group Commissioning Digital Environment (CxDE).
- Provide necessary access and training for all commissioning personnel on relevant platforms.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Work with project leads to set up Commissioning Digital Environments (CxDE).
- Align project-specific roles, responsibilities, and deliverables with Commissioning Managers and Package Managers.
- Chair and document kick-off meetings, ensuring alignment on the RACI Matrix and lessons learned.
Design and Execution
- Participate in design, constructability, and commissioning reviews to ensure compliance with plans and schedules.
- Review and sign off on project-specific commissioning plans.
Reporting and Documentation
- Collate monthly commissioning reports for each project, standardising where needed.
- Attend business unit month-end meetings and report outcomes.
Vendor and Client Relations
- Manage vendor relationships and resolve escalation points.
- Establish client-specific benchmarking for commissioning systems to improve future project pricing and programmes.
Travel Requirements
- Regular travel within mainland Europe for project oversight.
Qualifications
Experience- 10+ years in mission-critical facilities or data centre infrastructure.
- 5+ years of commissioning experience.
Education- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or a related field.
- Certification or training in NETA, ASHRAE, or Commissioning-specific education.
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP).
Skills- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); SharePoint or similar preferred.
- Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and control systems for critical infrastructure.
- Ability to read and edit construction documents (design drawings, control diagrams, specifications).
- Strong communication, organisational, and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain professionalism across teams.
Other Requirements- Weekly travel within Europe.
