Aircraft Mechanical Fitter

The Aircraft Mechanical Fitter plays a key role in supporting the movement, Line, and Base Maintenance of the UK MFTS (RW) H135/H145 fleet. This is a non-certifying role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering operational support to Flight Operations.
  • Perform maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by the designated Shift Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
  • Maintain high standards to ensure the continued safe operation of the aircraft.
  • Complete maintenance tasks, including work on airframe structure, power plant, and mechanical and electrical systems, following written instructions provided by the OEM.
  • Carry out mechanical, power plant, component, and composite technical work in workshops as required.
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the aircraft hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping duties.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of engine and airframe systems.
  • Familiarity with specialized test equipment related to engine and airframe systems.
  • Up-to-date knowledge in the following areas:
  • Flight/Airport Operations
  • Aircraft Line Maintenance
  • Aircraft Base Maintenance

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of UK Military Aviation and UK MFTS.
  • Familiarity with CAA Part 145 and Part M regulations.

Must have up to date knowledge of:

  • Flight/Airport Operations
  • Aircraft Line Maintenance
  • Aircraft Base Maintenance.

DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge of UK Military Aviation and UK MFTS.
